After having briefly presented some institutional aspects of the Court Justice European Union, present report analyses forty its leading cases in order to assess general characteristics legal reasoning developed by interpreting Treaties. The underlines importance teleological interpretation and arguments from precedents, frequency cogency based on principle rule law, difficulty for referring political nature Union tendency eschew constitutional rhetoric. Above all, high degree impersonality that is able achieve judgments concludes it depends a variety factors such as collegiate judgments, their subject matter, declining but persisting influence French model, need translation informatisation, extensive use precedents literal self-quotations, contradictory unsettled status sensu lato court space.
